Service & Repair Policy

Policies, Procedures, Warranties, and Customer Responsibilities for All Technical Services

Effective Date: July 1, 2011
Last Updated: January 7, 2025

Service requests begin with an evaluation of the reported problem and the information necessary to identify the requested work. Devices accepted for service may require basic identification, a description of the reported issue, and any additional information reasonably necessary to facilitate diagnostics, repairs, or other authorized technical services.

Diagnostic procedures are performed to identify reported problems, determine the condition of the equipment, and evaluate available repair options before work is completed whenever reasonably practicable. Repairs requiring customer approval will proceed only after the appropriate authorization has been received, unless prior authorization has already been provided or immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect the equipment or prevent additional damage.

Customers are encouraged to maintain current backups of important files before requesting any repair, diagnostic, maintenance, upgrade, or other technical service. Data recovery and the preservation of existing information cannot be guaranteed, particularly when equipment has experienced hardware failure, liquid damage, file corruption, malware, accidental deletion, or other conditions that may affect the integrity of stored data.

Repairs are performed using procedures, components, and materials considered appropriate for the specific equipment and the nature of the reported problem. Replacement parts may be new, refurbished, compatible, customer-supplied, or otherwise agreed upon before installation, depending on availability, technical requirements, and customer preference.

Remote support and on-site services are provided only with appropriate authorization and are limited to the work requested or otherwise approved during the service process. Access to equipment, systems, accounts, or networks is limited to what is reasonably necessary to perform the requested services while maintaining appropriate respect for customer privacy, security, and confidentiality.

Limited warranty coverage may apply to certain repairs, replacement parts, or services, subject to the specific terms and conditions applicable to the work performed. Warranty coverage does not apply to unrelated failures, accidental damage, misuse, unauthorized modifications, normal wear, software issues unrelated to the original service, or other conditions beyond the scope of the original repair.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information, obtaining any necessary authorization, maintaining appropriate backups of important data, and cooperating throughout the service process when additional information or access is reasonably required. Timely communication and the availability of equipment, passwords, approvals, or other necessary resources contribute to the efficient completion of the requested services.

Equipment that has been repaired, evaluated, or otherwise serviced should be picked up within a reasonable period after notification that the service has been completed. Devices that remain unclaimed after reasonable notification attempts and the expiration of any applicable holding period may become subject to storage charges, disposal, recycling, or other action permitted by applicable law.

Payment is due in accordance with the terms communicated at the time services are requested or completed, unless different arrangements have been agreed to in writing. Certain services may require deposits, advance payment, progress payments, or payment upon completion, depending on the nature of the work, project scope, equipment involved, or other applicable business considerations.

The availability and outcome of any service depend on factors such as equipment condition, prior damage, parts availability, technical feasibility, software restrictions, and the accuracy of the information provided. Although reasonable efforts are made to complete authorized work successfully, no repair, recovery, upgrade, or technical service can be guaranteed to resolve every issue or prevent future failures.

This Service & Repair Policy may be revised periodically to reflect changes in our services, repair procedures, business practices, legal requirements, or operational needs. Any revisions become effective upon publication unless a different effective date is expressly stated, and the Effective Date and Last Updated date displayed at the beginning of this document will be updated to reflect material changes.

Questions regarding this Service & Repair Policy, our repair procedures, technical services, warranty coverage, or any other service-related matter are welcome and will be addressed as promptly as reasonably possible. Please contact us using the information provided on our Contact page, and every reasonable effort will be made to respond in a professional, timely, and appropriate manner.

Service Requests and Device Intake

Every service request begins with an initial evaluation of the equipment or technical issue presented. To provide accurate recommendations and perform authorized services efficiently, certain information may be requested regarding the equipment, reported symptoms, previous repair history, software configuration, or other details reasonably necessary to understand the nature of the problem.

When equipment is accepted for service, reasonable efforts are made to document identifying information such as the manufacturer, model, serial number, visible physical condition, and any accessories provided with the device at the time of intake. Depending on the type of service requested, customers may also be asked to provide passwords, encryption keys, account credentials, or other information necessary to perform authorized work. Such information is requested only when reasonably required to complete the requested services and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Diagnostics and Repair Authorization

Diagnostic services are performed to identify reported problems, evaluate the condition of the equipment, determine the probable cause of a malfunction, and assess available repair options. Because certain defects, hidden damage, intermittent failures, or additional issues may not become apparent until the diagnostic process has begun, initial observations or estimates may require revision as additional information becomes available.

Repairs, component replacements, software installations, or other corrective actions requiring customer approval will not proceed until the appropriate authorization has been received, unless prior authorization has already been provided or immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent additional damage or protect the equipment from further deterioration. If previously unknown conditions requiring additional work are discovered during the repair process, reasonable efforts will be made to communicate those findings and obtain approval before proceeding whenever practicable.

Data Backup and Data Recovery

Customers are strongly encouraged to maintain current backups of all important files, photographs, documents, databases, software, and other valuable information before requesting any repair, diagnostic, maintenance, upgrade, operating system installation, or other technical service. Although every reasonable effort is made to avoid unnecessary data loss, work performed on electronic devices may involve inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated, particularly when equipment has experienced hardware failure, liquid damage, file system corruption, malware infections, physical damage, or other conditions affecting the integrity of stored data.

Data recovery services are performed on a best-effort basis and cannot guarantee the successful recovery of lost, damaged, encrypted, deleted, or otherwise inaccessible information. The likelihood of successful recovery depends on numerous factors, including the condition of the storage device, the nature of the failure, previous repair attempts, continued use of the device after the failure occurred, and other technical conditions that may exist. Customers acknowledge these inherent limitations when requesting data recovery or authorizing work on equipment containing important information.

Repair Procedures and Replacement Parts

Repairs are performed using procedures, tools, components, and materials considered appropriate for the specific equipment and the nature of the reported problem. Depending on the condition of the device, the availability of replacement parts, technical requirements, manufacturer specifications, customer preferences, and other relevant considerations, repairs may involve the installation of new, refurbished, compatible, remanufactured, customer-supplied, or functionally equivalent replacement components when appropriate.

Certain repairs, including board-level diagnostics, micro-soldering, liquid damage restoration, and recovery of equipment affected by electrical failure or other severe conditions, involve complex procedures whose outcome cannot be guaranteed despite the exercise of reasonable care and professional practices. Whenever practical, customers will be informed of significant risks, available repair options, expected limitations, or recommendations before specialized repair procedures are performed.

Remote Support and On-Site Services

Remote support and on-site technical services are provided only with appropriate customer authorization and are limited to the work reasonably necessary to diagnose, configure, maintain, repair, or otherwise perform the requested services. Access to computers, servers, mobile devices, networks, user accounts, software, or other systems is restricted to the extent reasonably required to complete the authorized work while respecting customer privacy, security, and confidentiality.

The successful completion of remote or on-site services depends upon factors including, but not limited to, internet connectivity, network availability, equipment compatibility, administrative access, customer cooperation, third-party services, and other technical conditions that may affect the ability to perform the requested work. When circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent a service from being completed as planned, reasonable efforts will be made to identify alternative solutions or recommend appropriate next steps whenever practicable.

Warranties and Warranty Exclusions

Limited warranty coverage may be provided for certain repairs, replacement parts, or services, subject to the specific terms, duration, conditions, and exclusions applicable to the work performed. Any warranty applies only to the original repair or replacement component identified at the time the service is completed and is intended to address defects in workmanship or covered replacement parts occurring during the applicable warranty period.

Warranty coverage does not extend to unrelated hardware or software failures, accidental damage, misuse, abuse, neglect, liquid damage occurring after service, power surges, improper handling, unauthorized repairs or modifications performed by others, malware or virus infections occurring after service, normal wear and tear, or any new condition unrelated to the original repair. Warranty coverage may also be affected if equipment has been altered, opened, serviced, or otherwise modified by another party after the original repair has been completed.

Customers requesting warranty service may be asked to return the equipment for inspection so that the reported condition can be evaluated and the applicability of the warranty can be determined. If the reported issue is found to be unrelated to the original repair or otherwise excluded from warranty coverage, additional diagnostic or repair charges may apply with customer approval before any further work is performed.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information regarding the reported problem, the condition of the equipment, previous repair attempts, installed software, and any other details reasonably necessary to evaluate and perform the requested services. Customers are also responsible for ensuring they have the legal authority to request services for the equipment, software, accounts, or information involved and for obtaining any required authorization before work begins.

To facilitate the efficient completion of the requested services, customers may be asked to provide passwords, encryption keys, security codes, administrative credentials, or other information reasonably necessary to access equipment or systems. Customers are encouraged to maintain current backups of important data, remove items not required for the requested service, and promptly respond to requests for approvals or additional information. Delays resulting from incomplete information, unavailable equipment, restricted access, or the absence of required authorization may affect estimated completion times or the ability to perform the requested work.

Unclaimed Equipment and Storage

Customers will be notified when equipment is ready for pickup, when additional authorization is required, or when other action is necessary to complete the requested service. Every reasonable effort will be made to contact the customer using the contact information provided at the time the equipment was accepted for service. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that current and accurate contact information is maintained throughout the service process.

Equipment that remains unclaimed after reasonable notification attempts and the expiration of any applicable holding period may become subject to storage charges, disposal, recycling, sale, or other disposition permitted by applicable law. Before taking any such action, reasonable efforts will be made to contact the customer using the most recent contact information available. Nothing in this policy shall be interpreted as limiting any rights or remedies available under applicable law regarding abandoned or unclaimed property.

Payment Terms

Payment is due in accordance with the terms communicated at the time services are requested, authorized, or completed, unless different arrangements have been agreed to in writing. Depending on the nature of the work performed, payment may be required in advance, upon completion of the service, in scheduled installments, or under other mutually agreed payment arrangements.

Certain services may require deposits before work begins, particularly when special-order components, custom projects, extensive labor, or third-party products or services are involved. Deposits applied toward authorized work are credited in accordance with the applicable service agreement or estimate. Outstanding balances may delay the release of equipment, completed work, reports, deliverables, or other materials to the extent permitted by applicable law until all payment obligations have been satisfied.

Service Limitations

Technology services involve complex hardware, software, networks, storage devices, operating systems, third-party products, and other components whose performance may be affected by conditions that cannot always be identified or controlled. Although every reasonable effort is made to diagnose reported problems accurately and perform authorized work in a professional manner, no repair, upgrade, installation, maintenance, optimization, or technical service can guarantee the correction of every issue or prevent future failures from occurring.

The availability and outcome of any service depend upon numerous factors, including equipment condition, prior damage, manufacturer limitations, software compatibility, replacement part availability, customer-provided information, environmental conditions, third-party products or services, and other technical circumstances that may influence the final result. Recommendations provided during the course of a service are based on the information reasonably available at the time and should not be interpreted as guarantees of future performance, compatibility, reliability, or continued operation beyond the scope of the authorized work.

Changes to This Policy

This Service & Repair Policy may be revised periodically to reflect changes in our repair procedures, technical services, business operations, legal requirements, industry standards, or other operational considerations. Any revisions become effective upon publication unless a different effective date is expressly stated, and the Effective Date and Last Updated date displayed at the beginning of this document will be updated whenever material revisions are made.

Customers are encouraged to review this Service & Repair Policy periodically, particularly before requesting new services, authorizing repairs, or initiating technical projects. Continued use of our services following the publication of a revised policy constitutes acknowledgment of the updated terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
