Follow these steps to determine why one or more of these fans may be making loud or strange noises:

• Clean the CPU fan.
• Cleen the power supply fan.
• If the noise persists and canbe narrowed down to the CPU fan, replace the CPU fan.
• If the noise persists and can be narrowed down to the fan inside of the power supply, replace the power supply.
• Many fans in perfect working order will simply get louder as the system gets hotter. In this case, it may be necessary to move your PC to a cooler area.
• If moving the PC is not an option, you may need to invest in more powerful fans or in a more advanced cooling system like liquid cooling.

If noise is coming from the hard drive, is time to replace your HDD.

If the noise appears to be coming from the hard drive then you can confirm this by turning off the PC, unplugging the power plug from the hard drive and restarting the PC. If the noise isn’t heard then you can be pretty sure that the hard drive is the culprit. There’s not much you can do about a noisy hard drive, often it’s a sign that the hard drive is on its way out and you should replace it immediately while you can still retrieve data from it.
